Once upon a time, amidst the golden reflections of a sunset and the distant scents of Puglia, there was a little dog named Camilla. She was a Yorkshire terrier, but not just any dog: her eyes shone like happy stars and her heart sang as lightly as a summer breeze.
Camilla had two lives.
In the first, she was a cover girl: always coiffed, with pastel-colored hair clips, matching outfits, oversized sunglasses, and elegant hats. She attended exclusive pool parties and gourmet dinners in restaurants with linen tablecloths and silver cutlery. Every summer, she treated herself to a long vacation in a white trullo among the olive trees of Puglia, where she sipped coconut water and sunbathed on hand-embroidered cushions.
Everyone called her "The Chic Camilla".
But not everyone knew that Camilla kept a wonderful secret.
Every time she returned to her Como, she'd find the Val Basca band again. And then she'd shake off her pink bow, put on her backpack (with a hidden snack), and run down the path, where her true favorite band awaited her:
Skye, very sweet and patient
Frida, rebellious and tender, always looking for birds
Lina, the fastest of the group, witty, cunning and sweet
Mardock, the heartthrob, handsome and noble
Shiva, the queen of diving and everyone's friend
and Sam, our heart teacher
Together they formed the Basque Valley Band, a group of friends who ran through the meadows, climbed trees (or at least tried to!), rolled in the grass and dirt, and sang made-up songs at the top of their lungs until the sun kissed the hills goodnight.
In that world Camilla was free, wild, alive.
One day, as they were all lying together under an ancient tree, Skye asked her:
—But what's it like living two lives, Cami?
Camilla closed her eyes for a moment, then answered calmly:
—It's like having two legs in the sky and two on the ground. It's beautiful to dance between worlds. But the secret... is knowing how to be happy everywhere.
Mardock nodded. "You teach us that we can be princesses and adventurers at the same time. The important thing is to never lose our lightheartedness."
And so it was.
Camilla lived her two lives, never choosing a single identity, because she had understood something that humans often forget:
happiness is not in one place only,
but in every moment lived with presence, love and balance.
And from that day on, every time someone in the valley felt lost, all they had to do was look for Camilla: she could be under an umbrella in Puglia or rolling in the grass with the band.
but wherever he was, he brought with him the magic of someone who knows how to be happy in every world
