Pepe and the day it rained balls

That morning the sky had woken up strange.

Not gray, not blue. But spotted , like the fur of a slightly distracted Dalmatian. And from those funny clouds began to fall… balls. Rubber, sponge, tennis, juggling. They all bounced happily on the asphalt, on the grass, on the park benches.

Pepe, who like every morning was doing his usual round with Luna, stopped motionless, with an orange ball between his paws.

“Luna… I think today is my birthday and no one told me.”

Luna raised her nose, looked at the sky and replied:

"Or maybe it's the birthday of all the dogs in the world."

Thus began the strangest of days.

Every dog in the neighborhood picked up his favorite ball. Some chased the ones that rolled down the stairs, some did somersaults with them, and some, like Pepe, simply lined them up, from the bounciest to the dreamiest.

But how did they get there? And why?

At the end of the day, a wise old dachshund told a legend:

"When a dog dreams too hard of playing, the sky gets confused... and instead of rain, it sends what is needed to make the paws happy."

Pepe smiled. He looked at Luna and said:

"Then I will never stop dreaming."

And from that day on, every now and then, if you look carefully at the sky… you might see a little ball falling among the clouds.
